Today's highlights: Recent Developments, legal tech exhibits, Cass-Cordy debate, Gala Dinner and New Lawyers party

The MBA Annual Conference 2003 opened yesterday at the Sheraton Boston Hotel with back-to-back meetings of the House of Delegates and the Foundation. At the House of Delegates meeting, Superior Court Judge Timothy Hillman and CJAM BArbara Dortch-Okara announced the launch of MassCourts, the court's long-awaited IT project that will electronically tie together all court records throughout the state.

Attendance was strong at a new series of programs on legal technology, which were followed by a packed Mentoriing and Networking Session.

This year’s conference, which runs through Saturday, Jan. 25, also include two halls of exhibitors, plus programs on ethics and professional responsibilites, Bench/Bar Forums and the first annual After-Party hosted by the New Lawyers Section.

Practice group for in-house counsel gears up with new programs, events

It may have taken a while to get revved up, but the newly invigorated In-House Corporate Counsel Practice Group is sparing little time in reaching out to attorneys who work directly for private companies and public agencies.
