Manage and enhance a planned giving program focused on securing gifts through trusts, annuities, and bequests. Build strategic plan and set priorities for MIT's upcoming campaign; Manage the Gift Planning team; Identify, cultivate, and solicit major outright and deferred gift prospects independently and in partnership with colleagues from across the Institute; Oversee marketing initiatives for deferred and outright gifting techniques.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree (J.D. or other advanced degree strongly preferred); ten+ years of direct fund-raising experience; seven years of progressive gift planning experience (preferably in higher education); ability to articulate and market economic concepts affecting planned gifts; ability to think strategically, interpret financial information, manage data, and develop and implement strategies; proven experience effectively managing people; excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively; proficiency with Mac computers, standard applications and databases. Travel, evenings and weekends as required.
